Moving to the United States 和 coming to 满帆大学 wasn’t originally part of Priscilla Rojas' plan. 在加拉加斯出生和长大, 委内瑞拉, Priscilla worked as a journalist before having a change of heart while writing her bachelor’s thesis.

“My thesis was about the cinema in [委内瑞拉] 和 how it was developing. I started to realize, ‘Well, I like this.’ My mom told me when I graduated in 2012, ‘Why don't you go apply 和 study [cinema] if you really like it?’”普里西拉解释道.

In 2014, Priscilla made the move to Orl和o 和 began her time at 满帆 with an Intensive English course before starting the 电影制作 master’s program. Although she loved most of her classes, Priscilla says her favorite course was 高级娱乐法.

毕业后, 普丽西拉和她的妹妹, 琳达, moved to Miami 和 began pitching shows to local television networks, eventually l和ing a deal for their live Spanish-language talk show, La Hora del Brunch 和 命运在未来, a show about tourism 和 gastronomy in the state of Florida.

“The only people I knew at that moment [to help us make the show] were 满帆 students or the people that graduated with me,她解释道.

Relying on the professional network she developed at 满帆, Priscilla worked to make La Hora del Brunch a success; the show won two 人民电视奖2018年和2021年.

“We started with one day a week… By the end, we [were airing] Monday to Friday,普莉希拉自豪地说. “We ended that show pretty much because we started to realize, ‘Okay, we’ve already done this. 我们需要做其他事情.’”

Since then, Priscilla has produced 和 directed several short 和 feature films, including producing 痛苦中的委内瑞拉: a short film inspired by the true story of Marco Coello, a young 委内瑞拉n political activist who was imprisoned 和 tortured before seeking asylum in the United States. The documentary was nominated for two Suncoast Regional Emmy Awards in 2019. Priscilla also won two Suncoast Regional Emmy Awards for her work on the short films La Tumba 和 超级Poderoso.

She’s worked on several award-winning projects in the film 和 television industry, 包括Telemundo的 Copa Mundial de la FIFA Qatar 2022, which won an Emmy award for Outst和ing Studio Show. She also worked on two other Spanish-language shows broadcast on Telemundo, 辩论Mundial 和 Hoy en la Copa, which were nominated for Emmy awards in 2022.

Most recently, Priscilla was invited to Washington D.C. to accept a Certificate of Special Congressional Recognition from the U.S. House of Representatives in honor of her contributions to the Miami 和 South Florida community as Co-Founder of Alpha Entertainment Services.

目前, Priscilla is juggling running her production company, Alpha Entertainment Services, 和 freelancing for the Women’s World Cup broadcast on Telemundo.

“Right now, I'm an [Associate Producer]. I have to watch all the soccer matches 和 choose the highlights that will be later broadcast on the daily TV shows,她解释道.

Luckily, Priscilla doesn’t regret taking the leap 和 coming to the United States.

“这是最好的决定. In the beginning, it was difficult to decide… I mean, I was [doing well] in 委内瑞拉. But when I went outside [of the country], I realized there's another world 和 more opportunities.”
